Bir Hospital, under the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), is set to conduct a special neurosurgery clinic for patients suffering from movement disorders, Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, tremors and related neurological conditions from 27 to 29 October 2026.
According to a public notice issued by Bir Hospital, the programme is being organised in collaboration with Carilion Hospital in Virginia, United States, to provide specialist evaluation and assess patients who may benefit from advanced neurosurgical treatment.
The clinic will focus on evaluating patients for specialised procedures, including Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), lesioning, spinal cord stimulation and Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS). These treatments may be considered for selected patients depending on their diagnosis, symptoms and clinical assessment.
The hospital has also announced a tentative surgical schedule from 2 to 6 November 2026. Patients will be assessed by specialists, and those considered suitable for surgery will be selected following medical evaluation.
The initiative aims to expand access to specialised neurological assessment and provide eligible patients with information about advanced treatment options.
